Description

This is my (first) entry for the "Cute Monster" T-Shirt-contest. :la: :la: :la:

This design is the first piece of art, I released for a long time and I spent many hours of work on it, since I have no graphic-tablet, so it was hard to "transform" the pencil drawing into a digital one with smooth outlines. :phew:

If you like it, PLEASE click on "I'd wear this".
I hope you like it, so feel also free to favorite

It's very cute and very well done as far as your skills go, but there are a few things with the overall design that would make not want to wear this. First off, your monster looks like a green penguin in a hat and glasses; not really a monster. Or it could also be mistaken for a Furby. And secondly, I don't even wear red and green around Christmas time. I just don't like the colors together :/ But I guess that's just my personal preference since technically green and red do go together because they're opposites on the color wheel. So you can ignore the second one if you want, but you should try to keep in mind what people will connect your art with. That's a huge factor in how your audience will react to your work.

As for the overall quality however, I think you did a great job C: I can tell you spent a long time on it. The balloon is especially amazing <3 And you did a really good job with the values, but the shading is a little bit off. I can't tell where the light source is supposed to be coming from <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt=":B" title="Bucktooth"/> If you look at the right side of the body, you would think the light is coming from the right. But if you look at the left side of the body, you would think that the light is coming from the left. But if you look at the feet and glasses and hat and beak, you would think that the light is coming from up above. You just put the values in really weird places in relation with each other :/
